I had a co-worker who drove me nuts with this shit. He followed a formula. If you discovered a band, he'd find a band that some its members previously belonged to and complain that the new band you discovered was sell out version of the previous band, which always had less commercial success. He also used to laud awful bands like Deep Purple or King Crimson, and depending on who he was talking to, they'd either be underrated, or kitschy classic.
