By the way, has Letterman become Leno? I saw him a week or so before New Year's. He was talking about Regis taking over for Dick Clark on "New Year's Rockin Eve." Okay, so there's the set-up, what will the joke be? Something clever about a band that's playing- maybe some Regis groupie joke? No.

Letterman's joke "Yeah, that who I want to see doing New Year's Rockin Eve- Regis, he's the first guy I think of when I think of rock."

This is the obvious statement that anyone with a three digit IQ would see immediately- i.e. the joke Leno would tell. Letterman would never have done that a few year's back- is this Lenoization becoming more frequent?
Well, the guy's had a bad few years. His wife of over 30 years died of cancer in late 97 and he is inching up there in age - not a good thing for someone who's humor is predicated on the notion that life is pointless, humanity is fucked and only an idiot would believe in God.

George has been too honest with himself. He's at that nadir where he knows he's probably right about most of the shit he says, and that sucks.

But he must resonate with a lot of people, because his book is presently on the bestseller list. Not bad for a pretty unhip cat.

Leno is a plague on humanity. He's inching closer and closer toward becoming the Tim Allen of late nite TV every day. I think Dave is frustrated, which is pretty silly. He's still owns the best and brightest demographic on late nite TV. I don't understand why he feels the need to compete with Leno. Leno is Bud in a can for shlubs - Dave ain't Dom, but he's apretty solid bottle of red.
