That makes me feel a little better about the Yankees.
I'm glad to see the major American sports contributing. The EPL donated 1M pounds last week. At the New Year's Day games, all players wore black armbands and every game started with a minute of silence. It would be nice to see the NFL do something during the playoffs.
The NE Patriots offered two tickets to next weeks playoff game for a $1,000 donation (limited number of tickets was available).
Charities linking up with pro sports teams may be the only way to get some people to contribute to the greater good. That said, I hate the United Way.
