Are you really one of these parents? What a fucking waste of money.
Cake, chips, popcorn, soda and pizza make for a good birthday party for 2 year olds. If you have those things and some bubble guns your kid's party will be a huge success. All the crap you just mentioned is for showing off to the other parents.
Make sure you serve beer for the adults, though.
