I understand- I think- traditionally it meant one stepped on a subtle joke by stating the funny part as if it were a follow up that wasn't intended by the original post. Under this second meaning I thought it might be clever to say "whiff" to someone attacking a nfh's news post. The whiff implying there is something much deeper going on in the news post.

That might make your last post a whiff under the original sense?
