A friend of mine tried the Internet dating thing for a while last year. Every woman he met was a nut job. Of course, off the Internet the women he meets seem to be nut jobs too.

Another friend ended up dating someone who had multiple personality disorder. Fortunately she ended that and now is quite happy living with a woman she met online.

Universally what people have told me is that people lie online. They mainly lie about age and weight. But they lie about all sorts of other things too. Heck sometimes they lie about gender.

I'd agree you have to be willing to deal with a lot of not so cool folks before you find someone decent. I think it would take a lot of patience and a good amount of caution. But it has become more mainstream so maybe you could find someone if you look long enough.
