It is going to sound like I am showing off here, but the bottom line is W has an ability to make you like him. When Bush was running for President, the campaign wanted me to be in charge of the Silicon Valley. Being a Pro-Choice Republican, I was reluctant. But after talking to the then Governor and his friends (his roomate from Harvard was my Co-Chair) they convinced me to come on board. I got so sucked in I ended running the internet campaign. People around Bush trust him and like him and it shows. It seems all through his life everyone he has come into contact with him really likes him. Hell, W got Nancy Pelosi's daughter to fawn all over him. I have seen some politicians who followers respect, others that are revered, but Bush has a way of making people really like him and trust his intentions. Every time I write a piece that is critical of the administration all sorts of people call me and lay a guilt trip. I am sure the guy with the tapes got a ton of phone calls from mutual friends that guilted him out of it.
