Oh for christ's sake, you petulant, arrogant motherfucker, I know what a jab is. Once he had the ball in his hand, he had the whole field into which he could take a quick step before he threw the ball. That's certainly faster than pushing/jabbing/whatever at some guy. He obviously didn't completely lose it and haul off and punch the guy before he threw the ball, but it looked to me like might have if he didn't have getting rid of the ball on his mind.
What he did do was, with his hands together and without making a fist, push vigorously towards the guy's face/neck/chin area. He didn't really connect very much, but it looked to me like he was retaliating and trying to do so; he just was lucky that the fan was backing up. It was a straight-on, direct offensive move; that's what a jab is.

You really are an idiot.
A jab is a quick, short, straight punch. He pushed the guy with the both hands, only connecting with his mitt. Like I said at least three times, he was
reacting to being hit in the face. His reaction was to push the guy away from him. Saying you saw a jab of any kind (and the open-palm variety is a new one to me) is flat-out wrong.

I don't think that it was unwarranted or beyond a reasonable response to that situation, but don't try to claim that wasn't a little bit of malice in his action towards that guy. He was trying, some half-heartedly (probably as the Artest brawl and consequences flashed through his head), to clock the guy. It's not like he hasn't demonstrated this kind of lack of restraint in the past.

It is so obvious that you are a complete pussy. Of course he was pissed off. Of course he wanted to clock the guy. He just got hit in the face. He turned and tried to shove him. Hard. The point I'm making is that that is a natural reaction and I believe 99% of the players in the league (or the people on this earth) would have done the same. Whatever his history of lack of restraint is (and I'm pretty sure you're only going from the example you read here earlier) doesn't matter. He showed it here. He was pissed and was going to beat the guy's ass and decided not to.

Anyway, if that guy or the guy who he got his seats is losing his season tickets, that's a sufficient punishment. Can you imagine having someone give you some great seats for the night and then permanently losing that guy his season tickets?

No it's not. He should be prosecuted. Losing your seats has proven to be not much of a deterrent.
