The Fashion of Baby Names

Those guys were teased mercilessly and hassled on a daily basis, except for Shannon, who grew into a very very large kid and began doling out punishment on his own.

I think you can be more creative with girls' names, but within reason. If you want to be really creative, save it for their middle name, and let them decide later on what they want to be called. It just seems cruel to burden a kid with a funky name, especially when they are young and don't particularly want to be set apart from the crowd.

Just my $0.02.
Conflict builds character. If your kid can't take it, it doesn't matter what his name is, he can't take it. If they can overcome some childish hazing in school, they'll have the skills to be a well rounded person. You need to prepare them for the inevitable.

Either that or they'll kill everyone they see in a flurry of bullets.
