Who buys insurance on their own? the people who really expect to use it. It's why car rental insurance is so expensive, and trip insurance, and any kind of insurance not purchased through a group.

Though, coverage for people over age 55ish, even if for the people 65+ it's only supplemental to Medicare, is fucking obscene, even on a group basis (provided the group is limited to this group -- reitrees). Perhaps not for people making bank like sebby, but how many people can afford $1k a month for health insurance?
