My parents (dad is self-employed) health insurance purchased through a professional society and their MSA is upwards of $20K a year, and that's with a fairly high deductible. Nothing remarkable about their health or lackthereof, though he has high blood pressure and occassional atrial fibrillation. I don't think the average person can afford that.
