One thing that's never been satisfactorily explained for my liking is Bush's failure to show up for National Guard duty in 1972-73. I don't believe that Bush was ever formally on any Defense Department AWOL lists but as far as I am concerned he has never fully explained his inability to document being on post. Enquiring minds and all that.
