It is funny how when you ascribe certain sentiments to me that you never back it up with a quote. Is it possible that a quote would show your twisting of my words?
As usual you have it backwards. It is the use of the term "all" or some other all-inclusive word that gets you into trouble and can lead to racist comments. If I say that the majority of Arabs don't want democracy, that is not racist. If I say many Arabs want democracy, that is not racist. It is when you say the “Arab world” or the “Arab people” you’re implying that it is something that is genetic or linked to their race. Like they are not genetically inclined to something. But not only is that racist it is just plain stupid to ascribe a certain type of thinking to a whole nationality. For example:
"And the Arab world wants democracy as much as they want a hole in the head.
It is even more racist (and more unintelligent) when you imply that a nationality does not understand a concept (denigrating their intelligence). Such as:
“They don't get it, they don't care to get it."
But then again, I forgot, it is not racist to say they all don’t want democracy (and that they don’t understand it), but it is racist for me to assume that some Arabs might want democracy, or that democracy would be good for them:
"This is no more racist or bigotted than assuming that everyone must want the system we have."
May I suggest some Apricots? It might fix your problem.
