A computer programmer and part-time yoga instructor has won the title of the first "Yogalympics." Vridhay Ganguly, of Calcutta, narrowly defeated Sri Lankan Sourav Dravid in a sudden death pose-off after tying in the timed events. "I would have thought my competitor would not be hindered by a simple Matsyasana," Ganguly said, "but competition can make concentration difficult. This is a great victory for me. I feel very serene."
Competive yoga is a new but rapidly growing sport throughout Southern Asia, and it's popularity is spreading. American David Hackfeld finished 19th.
