Arafat is dead, I think. And, in any event (and sadly) was hardly the most radical of influential Palestinian voices. Those more extreme voices -- Hamas, for example -- seem to be more influential that the nominal Palestinian leadership. And certainly more than their counterparts in Israel.
That said (i.e., agreeing with some of your views), repeated quotes from Arafat showing how particularly vicious he was are not particularly insightful. I suspect you could find some quotes from Ariel Sharon that make his recent actions... well, let's say, surprising.
