I forgot until now to let Sebby know about my Redwalls concert experience. First off, I enjoyed the CD. More poppy than I expected based on the fact that Sebby recommended it. But I like the clear Beatles and Bowie influences. I can hear the Crowes thing on a few tracks too.
So I saw them in concert on Friday night. The front three are each approximately 4'5". None of them could have been more than 90 pounds. The drummer is a giant (or appears to be a giant compared to the gnomes fronting the group). In light of the size discrepancy, the drummer was force to remain seated at all times during the show. I kept expecting the next song to be Christmas Time of some other Chipmunks selection, but it was not to be.
Musically, their show was tight. But, call me a heightest fuck if you like, it was really hard to believe that their voices came out of those little munchkin bodies.
I assume once they hit puberty, they'll have growth spurts.

Glad you liked them. They're poppy sounding, but the lyrics are anything but. They kind of work the Lennon “Working Class Hero” trick - innocent sounding soft melody with really angry lyrics making fun of the subject most listeners will assume - or hope - he's lauding. I’d like to see them play with the Crowes. You’d get some great Beatles tune encores. The Robinsons arrogant enought o try to pull off Tomorrow Never Knows and the Redwalls' singer is perfect for it.
The singer for the Redwalls has some pipes, doesn’t he?
