So this morning, as I'm going up the subway stairs, I'm behind a middle-aged Korean woman (55-ish?) who is wearing a Pucci-inspired (
inspired, I said -- talking only about the pattern, not the cut) dress -- not bad -- carrying a clean and coordinating bag -- so far, so good -- but as the eye is inevitably drawn to her feet, we begin to go awry.
I can't help but notice her footwear, as her feet are at my eye level as I'm going up the stairs behind her. She's wearing heavy, low, platform-ish leather sandals (kind of like Jesus sandals, but with a strap around the back of the heel). This isn't great, but what's under the sandals is just mind-bogglingly bad.
She is wearing -- are you ready? -- pink (that's right, pink) ankle-height
athletic socks. Huh?

Now, I can find it in my judgmental heart to forgive the shoes, inadvisable as they may be, but egad, pink athletic socks?!?! Just wear panty hose and be done with it.
I think my jaw actually may have dropped a little before I composed myself.
Just thought I'd share -- it is on-topic, n'est-ce pas? (Then again, just what
isn't on topic over here? Null set I believe.)
