Yes. This happens. I went with some coworkers to a place that had live music. They wanted to go "next door" to have drinks first and meet up with this guy's "girlfriend."
A female coworker said NO, DON'T GO to the "insert stupid strip club name here." I didn't know it was a strip club but I knew his "girlfriend" was a stripper. I should have known better.
So yes, in answer to your question, it happens.
