I'm afraid I don't really see your point. I haven't done any of those things. I spent a couple of days trying to talk him down from his manic rant and all it seemed to do was to exacerbate the situation.
If you really cared for him you would stage some sort of intervention, but instead you encourage his insanity. Is it because he serves your political agenda, or is it just for your own cruel pleasure because he amuses you and is so easily manipulated?
