Mandarich--that's the speculation, but why would he get off the juice? They tested as much in teh NFL as in college then, no? I assumed it was like several prominent linemen--the blocking schemes in college are easier because the linebackers aren't nearly as quick. As soon as you need lateral mobility, not sheer pushing strength, you may have a tough time.

I wouldn't disagree, but didn't he drop like 50 pounds after the combine? I just assumed either (i) he thought that once he was in, he was in and so, only juiced to get his contract or (ii) the steroids were endangering his life.
