This was a pretty funny article. Utter bullshit, but pretty funny.
How do you really even define a conservative or liberal anymore? Most of us have so many cross-over positions. I was reading NR last nite at the gym and learned from Jonah Goldberg (who is a screaming asshole), that I am not a conservative because I am pro-choice. I'd say to Mr. Goldberg that he is not a conservative, since being pro-life is forcing more mouths to feed at the govt trough. I don't understand how any decent true conservative can be pro-life. That is a moral issue, and conservatives are supposed to keep govt out of the business of morality, aren't they?
Libertarian is the only true conservative, in my understanding of the terms. But I guess that aligns me with liberals on many allegedly conservative issues. So I guess, like most of America, I'll just have to settle for being an politically independent person who frustratingly must choose between cabals of idiots each election. Voting is kind of like getting cable. You can never get just what you want - you always get stuck paying a pile of shit you don't want. I just want lower taxes and less govt, but to get it, I have to align with noxious religious lunatics and regressive degenerate hypocrites. Not much different than those 15 home and garden channels I'm forced to pay for to get the Sopranos.
