Bilmore asked the right questions. That said, I bought a larger Sony with a big screen a few years ago, and never liked it. It was loud, and had crappy battery life, and problems with the power supply. Eventually the motherboard went up in smoke.
So then I bought a mid-sized Dell, spending about $1000. I've been totally happy with it.
