Son, it's like this. If I think I'm going to have a bumper crop coming, well, I'm happy to let the boys in the fields have themselves three good meals. If the crops really good, well, I'll give them an extra shirt to wear this year. So the yankee farmers and millers who send hominy and cloth down here do OK. As soon as it looks like the cotton's not coming, well, I cut them back to two meals no new shirts, so we buy a lot less hominy and only the good cloth from England that we wear ourselves. So the yankees suffer.
