Church's, a venerable brand that went bust in the late 90s is back, but it's owned by Prada now. What that means, as near as I've been able to tell, is that shoes that were a good bargain at $300/pair now sell for $750-1,000, with no improvement in quality or design.

If you are in NYC they [Alden] have a store on Madison and if you travel up aways there is an Allen Edmonds store across the street heading towards Vanderbilt.
