ETA: 2-300k in my neighborhood doesn't get you jack, and I live in a small house. My wife and I are rich when you compare us with Cletus the dirt farmer in North dakota, or an inner city crack dealer, but we're very, very fucking middle class. I think upper class starts around $500k. That's about where you can start acting a fool with the checkbook.

Yes, and this makes me very concerned about how people who are making $40,000 are even living. Maybe they live in different neighborhoods in your overall metropolitan area? Because I don't think the bus drivers and waitresses and staff at your law firm and tellers at the bank and even lower-level loan officers at the bank and myriad other people are even cracking $100k in the Philly metro area. And they are getting by somehow.
