In fact, you purposefully have mischaracterized our conversations and my views on you in such a way that I have lost the little remaining respect I had for you. The word "retarded" has an actual meaning. When I use it, much like almost all of the other words I use, I am invoking that meaning. In your case, when I use it, the specific definition I am applying is "slow or limited in intellectual or emotional development : characterized by mental retardation." I am fully aware that it is often used with a negative conotation. However, the word itself is not the problem. I could just as easily call you differently-abled, special or slow, but they all mean the same thing, essentially. Therefore, if the problem is that I am likening you to someone with a mental deficiency and that is simply not allowed, well then I guess I am an offensive asshole.
But the fact is, I am not poking fun at anyone with a mental deficiency when I call
you "retarded" (although, I'm sure they would not want to be compared to you). I am simply calling attention to your mental deficiencies.
