The general statement seems pretty insipid if you were to compare the caloric needs of a fit athlete with a similarly sized couch potato. One has a much higher metabolism, and will need more calories. Nothing in the article suggests they adjusted for that either.

I'm not saying any of it has anything to do with me in particular, but I thought it was very, very interesting. Especially the stuff with the chickens and marmosets and the virus.
