In an effort to make PPNYC a useful contributor to the board, I am going to use this post as a jumping off point for a discussion that may prove to be interesting.
Ignoring the stupidity and bad grammar rampant in this post, does anyone think that "being a member of the bar" is something that requires us to somehow show kind of special compassion and dignity in our ordinary life? I can see that if you're in court you should act like a grownup, but outside of when I'm actually at work and working on work stuff, the fact that I'm a member of the bar doesn't impact my behavior. In fact, if I stopped practicing law (hi ltl/fb!!) I don't think that I would be able to display any less dignity in my personal life than I do now.
