Oh-MAZH is fake intellectual bullshit (perhaps used ironically by some? str8?). It is not standard american english, see (or listen)
http://www.m-w.com/dictionary/homage , which gives the ha-mij pronunciation 2d billing. I don't like the hard h either, but it's better than blatantly mispronouncing a word in a misguided effort to sound smart.
