When I was in law school, I did a criminal clinical program. I got to do criminal defense work for course credit. (SJC Rule 3.03, I think).

Anyway, I got called to jury duty in the very courthouse in which I appeared. I walked into the jury room and the bailiff said "Brazen, whatchoo doing here?" I told them I'd been called for jury duty and he laughed and told me the judge wouldn't let me sit.

Sure enough, I walked into the courtroom and the judge looked over the bench at me and said "Miss Brazen, what are you doing here this morning?"

I told him I'd been called for jury duty. He said "No attorney who appears in my courtroom sits on my juries. You can go now."

I should have been happy to have the extra time to myself. Instead, I went home and took a nap.

Obviously, the judge and the bailiff both thought you were hot.
