This Board isn't 10% of the fun it was 3 years ago, when it wasn't 10% of the fun it was 3 years before that, when it wasn't 10% of the fun 2 years before that.
The problems here are endless.
Too few folks in the community.
Too many people sick and tired of the same people talking past each other
Too many people bored to tears
Too many people having to actually work
Hardly anyone has anything creative to say that hasn't been said 14 ways to sunday.
Look, even the FB has sucked for about 6 years. Back then, it sucked because the comnmunity got small - every poll had been done - and it became all inside jokes among me, Multo, Less, TM whoever. Guess what, it still sucks - its 20 times smaller, everything has been RE-said 15 times over - and now its all inside jokes with BNB, DTB, Gwinky, Shifter, etc.
This Board often descends into nothing more than a HS "yo momma" fight - but, hey, there's a war going on and passions are high. For instance, Wonk and I used to be quite friendly - hell, I never met the man yet he once graciously invited me over to his house when I was travelling to ChiTown- and lately, we've had nothing more than a "fuck you, asshole" conversation going on.
I walk away from the Board for days (or weeks) at a time because I either (i) get friggin bored out of mind, (ii) dont want to lose my job, (iii) say something offensive and (yes) I feel bad about it or (iv) all the above.
Anyway, IMHO, asking Ty to take a break or to resign from being moderator is basically just asking for the Board to get more divisive and just worse in the process.
