I have a few colleagues in this boat, and I've dealt with some other lawyers on cases I've had (espeically plaintiff-side class action guys who hit it big, repeatedly), and they keep on working and very happy about it.
Maybe they're senior enough to make everyone else deal with the bullshit, maybe they just like the sense of what they've accomplished and built and want to further that.
I hope that when I'm their age, I have that same sense (and the accomplishments to back it up). Or, I have enough cash to make the choice that they are not making. Either/or, I'm flexible.

We call them "take them out in a box attys" no joke, some had heart attacks in office and shit.
So. the key is enjoy life, develop hobbies. and don't keep that wack assed cousel part time office. that way you are at home enjoying life.
