I think both. Scared of her right then and there and scared that it was true and she would be shunned by whatever black friends she actually has (or wants).
Then again, she's out of jail on parole and doesn't want to go back and if someone puts her hands on her she'll lay them out and she just spent $30,000 getting out of jail and she doesn't need to go back, but she don't play.
