And here's my tip for an emergency when you absolutely HAVE to leave or you'll lose your mind: Ipecac syrup. Even the most sadistic superior will have to let you go when confronted with a trash can full of puke. However, for obvious reasons, this must be used sparingly. You could go home and feel better half an hour later.
