The Tigers were always a household favorite, but the Yankees were popular too (we lived in Columbus). But I haven't lived in the midwest for, well, a long time, and have been a Yankees fan for as long as I've lived in NY (which includes years when they were not exactly successful).
To conlcude, I'm cheering for the Yankees - but if they don't win, I hope the Tigers do.

The first baseball game I ever attended was a Tigers game also. Tigers-Blue Jays in Tiger Stadium. With my dad and my uncle who lived in Livonia. I was a Phillies fan at the time. Now? No allegiance. I even have a hard time with baseball during the playoffs. Unless I'm watching it live. I guess I'm a Dodgers fan when I'm at the games here because I want them to win so they'll play I Love LA at the end of the game. Plus I typically go with a die-hard Dodgers fan who has season tickets.
