Nice try at reinventing what I said, but none of it was about the (admittedly) atrocious behavior of the church 300 years ago. I am disappointed; I would hoped for a more honest response from you.
My post wasn't about (true though) the atrocities committed in Jesus' name by the Catholic church for almost 2000 years. Instead, I inferred to abuses by recent and current fathers, bishops, archbishops, brothers, and whatever titles they imbue themselves with that justifies making a 9 year old boy suck a saintly dick.
And, again, I wrote-
"that aside, the Catholic Church is responsible for just as much grief every day as any imam. If you want to count - I suspect there are an indistinguishly simililar amount of unwanted babies, preventable AIDS cases, paedophilic victims, and people suffering from curable diseases than victims of Islamic jihad or ritual female circumciscion."
If I was writing about 300 years ago, I was awfully prescient. Better than Nostradamus even. Because if Nostradamus could predict the future, he would have told us all, Pope included, wear condoms. And God, even the fucked-up version sold by Benedict, wouldn't create a place where a woman doesn't even have the ability to make her own choice between right and wrong, good and evil, apple or abstinence, etc. No, instead, you are born, you are castrated, you are raped, you get AIDS, you die. Thanks, God.
