Spoiler: He doesn't get eaten.
Who reads any more? If you want to see a movie involving the theme of cannibalism, Ravenous is good. It features Guy Peirce.

Incidentally, Guy Peirce's western The Proposition was released on DVD. An excellent movie with a wonderful cast. The head gangster from Sexy Beast plays a cop on the trail of Peirce and his brother Danny Huston. Say what you will of Hollywood brats, but Huston inherited good DNA and has put it to use. The movie also makes good use of William Hurt as an alcoholic bounty hunter that's fond of Darwin, Yeats, and other poets.
