You are right that the Russian is a novelty act of sorts so it may not be such a mismatch, but I still think that this sort of thing turns heavyweight boxing into more of a joke than it has already become.

Did Ali ever fight someone freakishly large like this, or are boxers that big a relatively recent phenom.
In the UFC, the heavyweight division only goes to 265 pounds -- and even there, with a 60 pound spread, you get some ridiculous matchups.
