I don't think the criticism was bizarre. I thought it was actually correct. A collection is judged artistically, not just on how well it will sell. That's just one factor. I think all of the clothes shown last night would sell. However, I actually agreed with the judges as to who should win (although I was very pissed about it). Unfortunately Michael does not do well (yet) when he is operating without a clear structure. The challenges that he won were very structured. He falls back on old habits when he is given total creative freedom. Oh well, he is beloved by America, is dating Brandy and everyone knows it is just a matter of time before he becomes a great designer, so I don't feel too bad for him.
