bravo. That was very well done. Surely no one could criticize any part of your post.
Except......sometimes I wonder if you and I, and the 2 other regular posters who are super-intelligent might be off-putting to potential newbers. Someone waiting in the wings might read your post and feel intimidated since they realize there is little chance they could ever reach that level of truth, comedy, and biting, effecient intelligence all in a post written in a short break from the workday.
I've been dumbing it down the last few months in an attempt to move the mean down- not to Coltrane levels, but closer to ncs or nfh, whichever one it is that is the smarter one. Someday, the board flooded with newbers, we all may thank you for pulling punches now.
Just a thought.

You think so little of the potential Newbers out there. Your point would be valid if the Board's Newber Attraction Manifesto were to populate the Board with as many new posters as possible, regardless of quality, intelligence, or wit. But, and I have remained consistent on this since day one, I feel that the way to attract the Newbers that we really want here is to step it up, without going over the top. Mental precision is important, but anybody can be mentally precise if all that poster writes are bland, one sentence posts. We need Newbers who can push themselves out of their posting comfort zones, and yet maintain the same high quality posting standards that continue to make the Board a Newber-Friendly environment. We need Newbers who can establish a cohesiveness of posting styles without getting stuck in an intellectual rut. I dream of a Board that is populated with these types of Newbers, and therefore I respectfully decline your suggestion.
