The Proposition
I just remembered. We may have discussed this before, when this movie was released, but now that it's on DVD, I would definitely recommend The Proposition. It is ultra-violent and bleak, but everything you would want a real, old-fashioned Western to be. It is Australian, so a different West, and they don't talk funny like they do in Deadwood, but still, very very good. Got great reviews when it came out, but I think it went under the radar because it is so dark.
