What did I do?

What if Beeks had read it before, and reviewed it again after the switch. He would have known about the change, and tipped off the Dukes.

Of course, all Beeks needed to do was call with the contents of the report--it was all of one or two sentences when read at the news conference.

But the brilliance of the movie goes beyond the plot and dialog. Consider two examples:

1) The opening sequence, contrasting the life of the Dukes with the life of Billy Ray, all set to the overture from the Marriage of Figaro (it's an opera).

2) The use of the hanging portraits in the main room of the Heritage Club when Beeks frames Winthorp--each of the portraits is captured to appear to be looking with disdain at Winthorp.
Beeks, while an all-purpose kinda guy, didn't come off as the type who would review the contents of a briefcase he thought he had in his possession at all times, a second time.

But I'm with you on the brilliance of the movie on all levels. I just don't understand why Billy Ray is wearing a sweater on the beach at the end.
