Scary thing is, we've now reached the point where virtually every writer of fiction whom I've enjoyed could not meet the bar to run for office. Any writer with a goodly body of work - of good, complex, (dark?) work, is going to have some passages somewhere that offend someone.
There are so many good and valid reasons to get rid of Webb. (What a friggin' misogynist!) I'm sorry that this is the one that people think is important.
