I just want to note, saving Head Start from the budget axe has been an ongoing struggle under this administration. One big plus if the Dems get the Congress back is that cutting Head Start, or coverting it to a state-run block grant program, will be much harder for Bush to accomplish. (But in any event, no one's going to kill Headstart altogether with the last results from the Congressionally mandated study, a study pushed through by the right because they thought it would be the basis for killing the program in favor of faith based initiatives).
