As a dem, I share some of this fear. Though I think Pelosi will act a lot more responsibly than, say, Rangel would. Or hope, at least. I think she recognizes the difference between tossing bombs as a back-bencher and actually having a position of responsibility and accountability.
If the Dems win the House and/or Senate -- and I make no predictions about this -- I hope that they recall the lessons of '94. People want government to work. They don't want stupidity and grandstanding, or endless bickering (hi, nono!). Newt got spanked for failing to recognize this.
A few investigations, I can live with, provided they don't get carried away. But anything like calling for cutting off troop funding, for example, should be quashed before it starts.
