I have some Hudson Jeans that I recently picked up that are kind of "skinny" jeans, but not so "skinny" jeans that they look uber-trendy. It's a nice balance. I would recommend.
I've had reason lately to go up to my attic and retrieve old clothes (I was looking for a particular miniskirt and ended up coming down with three armfulls full of clothes). I've been having a blast laughing at the evolution of jeans in my wardrobe over the last 20 years. Most of the pair that I brought down (except for the 501 button downs that I bought in 1988 or 89), have ridiculously high waists and are very tapered in the lower leg. Some of them were still rolled up in the cuffs from whenever that was trendy. Still, my favorite pair of jeans from when I was in late high school and early college are my favorite pair of jeans, no matter how out of fashion they are (with ripped kness, a high waist AND tapered cuff).

I think I know where my old Guess jeans with the zipped ankles are. I can't wait to see how those look.
