Actually, I rather approve of banning junk food from schools, but I think the real responsibility is for parents to either lay down the law about what kids are allowed to buy at school, or, knowing how effective that is likely to be, simply not provide their offspring with money with which to buy Pizza-Hut and Taco Hell for lunch. Or choke up the extra taxes so schools aren't trying to plug budget gaps like this.

Alternatively, the state could pay the schools to forego such offers.
