True, but that's because snow drives TV ratings.
It is remarkable that the weather people will mention "snow" on every weather segment between November and March here, 99% of the time in phrases such as "no snow in the forecast" or "rain, because it's not cold enough for snow".
I think I should write them to do the same for hurricanes throughout the summer.
