Anyhoo, I have been reminiscing on the season and on this snow filled blustery winter's day I am reminded of a snippet, if you will, of Hank Thoreau's, “A Winter Walk” and thought I would share....

In winter we lead a more inward life. Our hearts are warm and cheery, like cottages under drifts, whose windows and doors are half concealed, but from whose chimneys the smoke cheerfully ascends.... We enjoy now, not an Oriental, but a Boreal leisure, around warm stoves and fireplaces, and watch the shadow of motes in the sunbeams.

As a youth, I visited Walden Pond. I swam in its placid waters and gazed upon its tranquil shores. It is these experiences to which I attirbute much of my current inner serenity.
