I like all of Elizabeth Peters' novels except the Amelia Peabody ones. Should I give them another chance? Unfortunately that seems to be all she writes anymore. I don't think she writes as Barbara Michaels at all anymore, which is too bad bc I like her Barbara Michaels novels a lot.

I think that she has such a roll going with Amelia Peabody it's hard for her to write anything else, though I'm hoping one day Vicky Bliss will come back. The Night Train to Memphis was the last Vicky Bliss novel, and her website says that there's a Bliss novel "in the works". (Vicky Bliss novels are Borrower of the Night, Street of the Five Moons, Silhouette in Scarlet, Trojan Gold, and Night Train to Memphis. The one thing I hate about Amazon is that it doesn't sort series in order.)
The problem with Amelia is that you sort of have to have been following along. Characters from six or seven books back will reappear and she doesn't bother to spend too much time getting you up to speed on the events from the last book. I'm vested, though, and I love Amelia. And 18 books in a series is a lot to catch up on.
